I have had a lot going on recently and don't feel like I am where I would like to be in any of the aspect of my life. I would say that I am probably about at 3 physically, spiritually, and psychologically. I have already started to decide goals that will get everything changed in my life. I have the goal of losing at least 15 pounds, growing in my faith, and learning not to be fearful. To accomplish these goal I have a few things in mind. I work at a gym so I am hoping that the physical aspect will be very easy. I am starting yoga, Pilates, and water aerobics classes. When it comes to growing in my faith I am diving into my bible and devotional, I am also spending more time in prayer talking to God. Psychologically I am trying to get rid of my fear by meditation and relaxation practices. I am trying to put in to practice what we are learning in class.
I tried the relaxation technique this week but I have to be honest it didn't make me feel very relaxed which frustrated me because I really needed it at the time. In the beginning it was relaxing because of the breathing but when it started to talk about the rainbow and colors coming out of body parts I was lost. I do great with the breathing techniques and think I will stick with them.
Amanda,
ReplyDeleteIt is discouraging to not be where you want in life, especially with areas that are as important as these. I think you have a great goal and plan to change this. All I can say is take it one step at a time and set realistic goals. I would like to lose 10 pounds, but I am going to try for 5 and then set another goal for 5 more. I also am trying to get back to my spiritual life by dedicating 10 minutes each day to reading the Bible. I truly think that every little bit helps! Good luck with your goals!

Amanda,
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel when you say that you are not where you want to be. I am a long way from where I need or want to be. I commend you for setting your goals. Setting your goals represents the first drop in the bucket of life. As you work towards reaching your goals, I pray that your bucket overflows.
Blessings,

I think you have great goals. I really like the one about learning not to be fearful. As a person who suffers from anxiety, I know what it's like to feel afraid and it's incredibly annoying when you know you shouldn't. A little bit of fear is healthy (it keeps us alive) and everyone should have that, but only in a small healthy amount. Having too much fear holds us back so much and really keeps us from achieving the things we want to. No one should have to live with that.
ReplyDeleteLosing weight is a positive in so many different ways (providing that you do need to lose weight): it can help you self esteem and confidence, it makes you feel better physically, and your health improves. I think everyone deserves to be at a healthy weight (and in shape). Personally, I'm a healthy weight but I am NOT in shape by any means. People often get confused when I say I need to work out and I'm out of shape. They assume being small means I'm healthy (not the case). When I'm really out of shape I can run down the block and get winded. Lol. That's actually very sad, which is why I want to change it.
Improving faith is another thing that I think is beneficial to everyone. I think it give people peace of mind and makes them feel meaningful and connected. I love having that feel, that's why I try to immerse myself in my religion whenever I can.
